Canada Bridges will work by invitation with partners on workshops and activities for BIPOC youth that explore their leadership potential, and provide follow-up relational, coaching and mentorship support for youth that want to take forward change projects in their communities. Learning, resources, and facilitation materials co-developed with youth from this on-going work will be compiled in an online platform to reach a wider range of youth and communities wanting to support youth leadership.

Cochrane Ecological Institute is creating a new education program that aligns with its mission to ensure the preservation and conservation of cultural and biological diversity. This program focuses on why there is decline of bat species, which will lead to a better understanding of them, their activity and how we can conserve them as an integral species in their ecosystem. To aid in their recovery CEI is building colony sized habitats (bat boxes), for nurseries, and hibernation sites.

FearIsNotLove is expanding our program delivery to better serve Indigenous clients by working with Elders in Indigenous communities, collaboratively partnering with the Men& initiative, and responding to relevant Calls to Action identified in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) report. These partnerships have enabled us to develop programs such as the Men’s Cultural Helpers initiative which helps men transform their pain and live more connected, healthy and purposeful lives.

Sagesse is applying for operational funds to support the ongoing delivery of the peer support program to individuals impacted by domestic violence across Calgary. The peer support program consists of individual and group support for people experiencing, at risk of experiencing domestic abuses and sexual exploitation or those supporting people experiencing domestic abuse. All group and individual support programs are facilitated by trained volunteers and empowerment focused.

Youth Central’s Youth Volunteer Corps program has substantially grown since early 2022 and this growth trend is continuing. Youth Central is seeking resources: to support this growth now (staffing, project expenses) and develop a plan, with a consultant, to determine a growth strategy, review community needs, and what Youth Central needs to ensure the continued success of the program.
