To tap into the local Indigenous Creative Economy and develop a large scale Arts Market, CADA will host a market at upcoming city events starting with the World Petroleum Congress in September 2023. This event attracts thousands of individuals from around the world and is an outstanding opportunity to display and promote the creative talents of Indigenous artists. The market will consist of two separate pieces: an open market (free for all Indigenous vendors) to present their art, and an “Indigenous Fine Arts Salon” that will display and sell pieces worth tens of thousands of dollars. A portion of all sales will go back to the market to sustain it until 2024 (Special Olympics), 2025 (Rotary International Convention), and 2026 (Juno Awards).
