MFNS is expanding its Single Mothers Self Sufficiency Program to include the children of these mothers. We identified an extended need for supporting these children the same way we are supporting their mothers. The goal of this program is to instill emotional stability and belonging in these children and their mothers, as well as create a safe place where they can share their experiences, make friends and become part of the community. This grant will pay for the counselors, materials and space.

Four years into its new mandate as a multidisciplinary disability arts organization, the NaAC is now experiencing extraordinary growth in the amount of creative content that is being produced by its community of over 350 artists. The goal of this initiative will be to generate the initial traction necessary to take advantage of this and increase the public presence of the NaAC artist community and the organization through much needed increased capacity to support this goal.

NSTEP will deliver Chef on NSTEP with a Fresh Routes market, in various communities. This grant will cover the costs of NSTEP educators, food, Fresh Routes market truck costs plus a 10 dollars food voucher to purchase food for the Chef recipe for each youth. Chef teaches vulnerable youth food literacy skills, nutrition, activity education, financial literacy with a cultural inclusion lens. Youth take this knowledge plus food ingredients home to educate their families about healthy affordable foods.

The Old Trout Puppet Workshop has something that many arts organisations and other not-for-profits in Calgary with lack of space. The Trouts have a rehearsal studio and a shop for building sets, both of which are frequently rented or loaned out to other orgs. With the addition of a lighting and sound system, the studio will become a more user friendly rehearsal and creation space, something other Calgary arts orgs are in need of. This grant will pay for labour and materials to make that happen.

Pacekids is moving into a new facility beginning school year 2025-2026, which will expand the North building capacity by 40 percent. This new facility will ensure children with diverse needs are supported to thrive through excellence in early intervention and therapy.
Funds from the Community Grant will partially support costs associated with the four new classrooms in the facility, including costs like specialized seating, mobility equipment, technology and other adaptive resources.

To meet growing demand, Quest Theatre wishes to hire a part-time Drama Education Associate to oversee our drama education programming, nurture our teaching artists, and manage free drama engagement activities for the community. This grant funding will support the salary of the Drama Education Associate for 24 months and two professional development activities for our teams.

The Society continues a planned generational transfer process as it is now going through an aging out at all levels of core board, staff and participants. Board and member engagement will decide major future directions, including partnership with City re housing, and potential rebranding. The project grant will balance member supported engagement in change decisions and processes, adapting to emerging changes in work, volunteerism and client population, while maintaining stable and familiar programs.

PLAN Calgary is looking to subsidize the membership costs for families to plan the future for their loved one with a disability. Collaboratively, we work with families to gain knowledge and create a detailed plan for now and the future in the key areas of housing, financial, decision-making and citizenship while simultaneously building natural support networks of support around the individual with a disability.

As we age, nourishing our bodies becomes increasingly critical. It is vital in preventing age-related diseases and maintaining overall health and well-being. Shalems Dining Room, serving 165 residents, currently relies on a 25-year-old Combi Oven to prepare nutritious meals. With food costs rising and no replacement parts available for the oven, Shalem Dining Room staff face daily challenges in providing healthy, balanced meals. Acquiring a new oven at this time has become necessary.

The SHARP Foundation is looking to build a stronger internal network to support the health and mental health for our residents to address the limited acceptance and access to family physicians, mental health supports, counselling and other supports needed for residents with a history of trauma (family violence, sexual and physical abuse), often triggered by interactions with health care, EMS, Law Enforcement and other social services.
