The Community, Health, Empowerment & Wellness (CHEW) Project is a community-based initiative that provides a safe environment and free frontline support for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and emerging adults aged 29 and below who face barriers such as mental health, poverty, houselessness, substance use, sexual health, oppression, and more. We are requesting funding to complete the establishment of a Calgary chapter of CHEW, and broker a community partnership to see to operational needs in Calgary.
Monh soo goy (a new path we are going down, a new life for our people) is a community-born vision for a Recovery Community at Siksika where healing from addictions can happen: a place where people can get healthy and find the supports to restore balance. In this proposal we request funds for the strategic and project development activities that will bring Monhsoo goy into reality by mobilizing the community and its resources to support this important initiative.
The Hangar Flight Museum will launch a new suite of community outreach programs to connect with seniors and neurodiverse visitors who have not been able to engage with us due to physical, mental or financial barriers. The goal is to create an inclusive space that will provide the appropriate sensory experience for each group and benefit socially vulnerable, isolated and underserved members of the community. This grant will go towards materials and labour costs.
