Doors Open Calgary is derived from a well-established and highly successful international concept that allows people free access to unique and interesting places to create enthusiasm for, and increase the appreciation of, historic, contemporary, and culturally significant spaces in our city. With our family-friendly weekend event, we create opportunities for the showcasing sites to connect with community and share their stories in a meaningful way. Calgarians of all ages and backgrounds, from every quadrant can learn about the art, history, business, and science of these sites at no cost.

GF wants to create a mentorship/training program for emerging artists, to building large scale puppets for spectacle performance and TV. We feel it’s important to pass on the knowledge we have acquired over our 32-year history of making puppets by finding a group of dedicated and creative artists who would like to learn this craft. They will work alongside professionals in the industry on multiple puppets, from conception, design, building, and finally performance considerations.
