The project aims to build the capacity of its human resources department to ensure that CIWA is composed of high performing and happy staff who want to help others. In doing so, CIWA will enhances its ability to support immigrant and refugee women and their families in line with Canadian Accreditation Council standards and maximize the impact of its programs on the settlement and integration of vulnerable populations.

Due to the pandemic and the growing demographic of older persons, Calgary Seniors has experienced an increasing number of referrals from community agencies and direct calls from older persons seeking assistance. This increase has resulted in a longer wait time to be assessed. The Intake Coordinator for SeniorConnect crisis response and the Immediate Supports Worker for the Outreach department will provide timely efficient and effective assessment for walk-in and telephone clients.

YW Calgary has been on an active EDI journey to understand and become an organization where everyone including clients staff and community partners feel included accepted and safe. YW is at a critical phase and wants to bring in EDI leadership to strategize implement and integrate awareness education and change within YW’s culture workplace programs and services. YW Calgary is seeking funding to support the hiring of an Equity Diversity and Inclusion Manager.

Carya is seeking to implement a free-of-charge childminding program to reduce barriers to programs which encourage mental health and provide accessible supports and services to the Calgary community. Community members utilizing counselling and community programs have identified a need for accessible childcare. The carya Childminding Program will address this need and allow carya to provide this critical service by funding a Childminding Coordinator and programmatic expenses.

After over 40 years of growth, CSP is poised to transition from an outdated, often manually managed database to a fully integrated customer relationship management CRM system, SalesForce. SalesForce will enable CSP to manage workshops, campaign programs, fundraising and communications in one integrated platform. This technological infrastructure upgrade will provide a necessary platform to support CSP’s continuous expansion at a critical time in the mental health sector.

With Indigenous staff leadership, Closer to Home is working alongside its Elders and Knowledge Keeper who have worked with us since 2003, plus nearby Nation members to design a strategy to embed Indigenous worldview into organizational systems, culture and programs such that ways of knowing being and doing are authentically implemented with integrity and evident throughout the organization to the community and those it serves.

CWRC will provide office and meeting spaces as well as support services prioritizing Calgary Indigenous, Black, racialized harm reduction, and LGBTQ agencies to foster the post pandemic recovery of vulnerable populations and the agencies that serve them. This will be done using our Anti-Racist Organizational Change model and our colocation community developed principles. It is urgent to reestablishing community programming in the wake of the Covid-19 Pandemic through a lens of equity.

Connections has identified that staff wellbeing is an urgent priority and that when staff are doing well our impact on clients is greater! Our computers are 10+ year old second-hand. An IT/systems update will help the team work more efficiently and without obstacles. A wellness strategy will ensure staff are supported with cost of living team building activities and overall mental health. We re working on a long-term compensation plan to ensure retention and maximized impact on our clients.

Best Help Family Foundation is focused on building trust with South Sudanese community by providing Food Hampers, Youth and adult counselling in Arabic, Nure and English which will reduce gang violence. Best Help Family Foundation strive to restore hope to those who hit rock bottom due to unforeseen circumstance in life.

Discovery House’s WiFi network setup is used by residents and staff and does not meet the needs of either. Consultants have recommended changes to increase efficiency and reduce long-term operating costs. Discovery House residents also rely on the intercom system for direct communication with building security. The current system is outdated and no longer reliable. To ensure the reliable communication between the residential apartments and the security desk the system requires replacement.
