This project will focus on meeting CBFY’s burning policy development needs, which are in operational / program areas, in particular in regard to guidance of interaction with our clients (primarily school-aged children and youth from vulnerable newcomer families). The work will create an encompassing framework for a comprehensive, evolving agency policy manual that can: guide and control the agency’s activities; be easily amended as agency needs change; and be shared for the potential benefit of other settlement agencies. The project’s workplan has been proscribed to fit the size of the available grant; it will address CBFY’s highest policy-related priorities and create the momentum for ultimate completion of a comprehensive policy manual.
The goal is to enhance Board and Senior Leadership’s understanding of SafeLink Alberta’s financial position via a facilitated workshop from Thriving Non-Profits. We will analyze revenue generation trends, explore current and potential strategies for diversification, and identify opportunities for improving the agency’s financial health.
Easter Seals Alberta is undertaking a 360 degree, safety focused, policy and procedure review. Given the growth of the organization over the last year through the merging of operations with the Children’s Link Society, and the increased intersectionality and medical complexities of the clients we serve, we would like to elevate our internal policies to strengthen the organization’s efficiencies and ensure we are offering uncompromising standards in safety supports to our clients, volunteers, staff and community.
Luna’s work has evolved to include inclusive responses, remote testimony, enhanced collaboration, and specialized services. As Luna’s work continues to grow, so does case volume and complexity. Luna’s current space is no longer sufficient to meet the need. We currently reside in 25,000 sq. ft. and the space assessment conducted with stakeholder input as well as architects from Gibbs Gage, demonstrates a need to increase space to 40,000 sq. ft. Space is a longstanding issue at Luna and in the newly developed strategic plan, Luna’s Board of Directors identified space as a critical need. Assessing space solutions is an essential part of Luna’s expansion process. It will identify options, pros and cons, and provide direction for next steps.
Volunteer Calgary (VC) is partnering with Ally Co to build a foundation that empowers the organization to adapt dynamically to the evolving needs of the community this organization serves. This project will establish core values and critical practices that foster a more agile, responsive, and resilient organization. By cultivating an inclusive, values-driven culture, VC will ensure its board and staff embody these principles in every interaction, internally and with its community. This groundwork is essential for the VC to fulfill its mission with maximum impact, meeting its community’s needs effectively and inclusively through every programmatic initiative and partnership.
The recent rise in immigrants has contributed to the rapid growth of the Persian speaking community, leading to a rising demand for cultural, educational, and social support. As a non-profit charity focused on the cultural, mental, and spiritual well-being of the community, Calgary Towhid Centre has been striving to provide services tailored to the needs of the community. However, the current space capacity is inadequate to meet these growing demands. A service gap was also identified in last years survey, highlighting the need for an expanded facility. So as to continue serving our community, we propose a feasibility study to explore options for securing a larger facility or second location to better provide our non-for-profit services.
Now that a new Executive Director is in place, the past ED’s role was announced, a potential merger is off the table and the strategic plan is ending its term, it’s time for a reset and refocus. We want to hire a facilitator we have worked with to ensure that staff, the board and volunteers have clarity on their direction and work after a year filled with so much change.
The goal of this strategic project is to update The Resilience Institute’s financial processes so that they are aligned with our current and future growth.
The Canadian Music Centre Prairie Region is requesting funding to assist with hiring Marty Bragg and Associates to conduct an organizational assessment. CMC Prairie Region has undergone significant change over the past year with the retirement of long-serving Director John Reid after 36 years of service, now succeeded by Janna Sailor, who began her leadership role in Aug. 2024. CMC PR is interested in undertaking an organizational assessment to address challenges specific to this region, the current economic climate, and the state of the arts. It will examine member-focused initiatives, staff roles, restructuring initiatives, develop strategies to increase membership engagement and examine CMCs role in the arts ecosystem.
