The urgency of this project is highlighted by a surge in demand for housing support services for young mothers and their children, in the current housing crisis. Therefore, completing this project is essential for Highbanks to effectively address this pressing community need.

PMAST has been operating for 25 years. It has been built on a legacy of grassroots engagement with an operational, volunteer board. The programs PMAST provides have changed the lives of many youths and enabled them with the conflict resolution skills that empower them as leaders. However, demand for the organization’s programs has outstripped organizational capacity. PMAST needs an organizational review that will help it learn from the past and create better operational efficiency as it is given increased responsibility by the community. Currently we operate only with contract staff, organized by a volunteer, operational board. Our organization has very low overhead.
