Early Music Voices Concert Series would like to present a special concert benefitting the Calgary music community and raising our profile in Calgary and beyond. It will be educational for voice students at UCalgary, giving them coaching and performance opportunities. It will tie in with the 350th Anniversary of composer Heinrich Schütz, connecting us and them to events across Canada. It will offer Calgary audiences a chance to hear UCalgary’s special keyboard instruments and include EMV in the inaugural season of their brand-new harpsichord delivered earlier this year. And finally, this concert will increase EMV’s offerings to 6 concerts from a previous 5-concert season, demonstrating our determination to grow and thrive in Calgary.

The ALS Society of Alberta provides support for families as they deal with the devastating terminal diagnosis and life changes associated with ALS. This project will allow the Society to strengthen its donor relationships to ensure steady and continued support, which is especially key post-Covid, as we recognize the need to diversify fundraising from in-person events. DonorPerfect migrating the Society’s data and providing training will allow us to properly track & report donations and grants, improve donor communication, implement a society-wide stewardship plan, and improve donor relations. By migrating to DonorPerfect, we will also replace 3 systems (one of which, Raiser’s Edge, will be obsolete soon), reducing administrative time and expenses.

The goal of this project is for Easter Seals Camp Horizon to become financially sustainable. Camp Horizon is a one-of-a-kind facility that provides individuals who have disabilities and medical conditions with life-changing outdoor experiences. Each year, we benefit from an overbooked camp season. However, our camp programs are operated at a significant deficit. In order to offset this deficit and increase our offerings to meet demand, we will evaluate our existing model to better utilize the property to earn revenue. In addition, a review of our staffing structure, fee structure, policies and practices would ensure effective resource management to support the long-term sustainability of camp.

In our short history artsPlace has become a flourishing and vital gathering space. In response to extensive community engagement and grounded in the success of our programming, artsPlace’s new strategic plan calls for relevant and responsive expansion to extend the reach and accessibility of our programs, particularly for youth and underserved communities. To achieve this, we need to understand our needs more thoroughly and conduct a detailed study of available spaces and strategic partnership opportunities. The Town of Canmore is moving forward now with its planning and redevelopment of the physical spaces that will greatly affect how our needs could be met. We must act immediately so our needs are integrated into their planning process.
