ActionDignity has pioneered the process of engaging grassroots leaders, organizations and communities in Anti-Racism trainings. As part of our commitment to Anti-Racism we aim to expand the scope and content of our trainings by leveraging our knowledge and expertise in this area and augmenting the content with concepts rooted in Systems-led Leadership. We believe that the first wave of Anti-Racism trainings did well to create awareness and provide community members with language and tools to promote Anti-racist actions and behaviours, and we believe that the stage is set for a deeper, more analytical approach rooted in Systems-led Leadership to focus on identifying and transforming systemic barriers.
CL is an innovative, proactive provider in the disability community. The news of the executive director’s resignation requires the agency to work with consultants to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer and continued impact and momentum in the organization. The goal is to ensure the current team and new leadership are fully informed about the organization’s strategic priorities, assumptions and impact. CL will work with The Ally Co. over the next 3 months to create; a stakeholder communications plan, an offboarding/champions plan, an updated business model and team structure recommendations, an employee journey map with details for recruitment, hiring, onboarding, clarify strategic priorities and ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
The Deer Run Community Association seeks to conduct a survey of all community residents to provide feedback on the facilities and recreational/social/cultural programs offered within the community, and to identify what the priorities are. The community center is now 40 years old, and the building is used much differently now than when it was first built. The survey will help to ensure that any programs, changes and building renovations are what the residents want and will use.
Inn from the Cold is building the capacity of the organization to better serve the needs of Indigenous peoples who are experiencing housing instability and inter-generational trauma. By engaging an Indigenous owned consulting firm to audit the organization and provide a gap analysis, reconciliation strategy and action plan, The Inn will increase its capacity to support the Indigenous families that come through the doors. In 2022, 60% of the families that The Inn served identified as Indigenous, translating to 856 families and 1747 children. The Inn intends to enter this work in a good way in order to fill the identified gap for continued improvement in Indigenous relations and reconciliation.
