Patrick Adams Memorial Scholarship

Created by University of Calgary Environmental Design Alumni, this scholarship honours Pat Adams, a graduate of the Faculty of Environmental Design (EVDS) in Architecture at the University of Calgary.  

The Patrick Adams Memorial Scholarship is available to students entering their first year of a Master’s Degree program in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape (SAPL) at the University of Calgary.  

Pat was a gregarious and passionate individual with multiple interests and a long career that began in the Canadian Navy, included several years in the oil industry from Alberta to the North Sea, and followed with many years of contribution to the housing and construction industry in Edmonton until his passing in 2018. Pat was a leader, a tenacious problem solver and a mentor to his friends, colleagues and the staff he directed in multiple roles over his lifetime. His commitment to learning continued beyond architecture to earning a Master of Business Administration degree. 

The Scholarship is intended to support a student whose path to graduate studies has been non-linear and who is motivated to incorporate enquiry and practical holistic problem solving into their studies and work. 

One scholarship valued at a minimum of $4,000, applied directly to tuition. Renewable for one year, based on satisfactory academic standing (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0). Additional small one-time awards may be offered.
