In April 2020, Calgary Foundation established the Pandemic Recovery Program to bridge gaps and meet critical needs to support all sectors serving our community.
Through a phased funding strategy, Calgary Foundation provided grants to charities totaling over $14 million dollars. We partnered with the Government of Canada and Community Foundations of Canada to distributed funds totaling $3.6 million through the Emergency Community Support Fund.
With local partners like the United Way, Rosza Foundation, the City of Calgary and others we contributed another $1.5 million towards front-line agencies, resilient arts organizations and more. In total more than 450 organizations received funding through one of these grant programs.
We continue to operate as a 360-degree-grant-maker, open to all registered charities in Calgary and area, as well as First Nations communities in Treaty 7 region. For continued support, please see the other types of grants outlined under the Grants Overview section.
