Donor & Field of Interest Grants

The following types of grants are issued by the Calgary Foundation based on the requests of the Donor who established the Fund or their authorized designates.

With a few exceptions (see Unique Awards), organizations cannot apply for these grants.

Donor Advised Grants are made from Funds established by donors who are actively involved in recommending support for organizations and causes that matter to them. Donors’ recommendations may vary from year to year in terms of the organizations they choose to support.

Donor Designated Grants are made from Funds established by Donors to support specific charitable organizations. Grants are typically issued annually and the amount may vary from year to year, depending on the Fund’s market value.

Proactive Field of Interest Grants are made from Field of Interest Funds, which allow donors to direct charitable giving to a general area of interest. The recipients are determined annually by the Calgary Foundation.
